Speaking at SxSW

SxSW 2010I was asked to do a book reading of Online Marketing Inside Out at South by Southwest (SxSW) Interactive conference in March, 2010. I won’t actually be reading from the book, but instead will give a short presentation around one of the topics covered.

I have wanted to speak at SxSW for several years, having been to the conference both in 2008 and 2009, so I’m very excited about the opportunity to both speak at one of the largest conferences in our industry and to get such an amazing chance to promote our book.

I just hope my coauthor Shayne Tilley can make it to Austin all the way from Australia. Not only would it be an excellent opportunity for us to promote the book together, but it would also be the first time I met him in person!

I’m at BlogWorld in Las Vegas

I’m headed to Las Vegas for BlogWorld, a blogging and new media conference. I really enjoyed the conference last year… I met some great people and learned a lot.

I’m especially excited about this year because I have a book signing Friday at 11 AM, a time slot I’m sharing with Patrick O’Keefe, good friend and author of “Managing Online Forums.”

I’m at IzeaFest at SeaWorld in Orlando

I’m at the IzeaFest interactive marketing conference hosted at SeaWorld in Orlando. The one-track two-day conference covers social media, sponsored conversations, personal brand and more. I know a lot of the speakers such as Aaron Brazell of Technosailor.com, Wendy Piersall of Sparkplugging, and Wayne Sutton of SocialWayne. Other speakers include Ted Murphy, Chris Brogan and more. I also have a lot of friends and colleagues who are attending such as Patrick O’Keefe, Jeremy Wright, Jayson Flint, and more.

I’m also looking forward to Sunday, where we all get a free pass to SeaWorld for the day. I can’t wait, because I’m surprising my son… Sunday happens to also be his 4th birthday and I’m taking him (and the rest of the family) to SeaWorld.

Live Interview on The Business Net-Marketing Hour This Thursday

I will be the guest on this week’s episode of The Business Net-Marketing Hour this Thursday, September 24. Hosted by Greg Gaskill and Jason Koeppe, the one-hour weekly show focuses on online marketing. This will be it’s fourth episode.

The title of this episode is “Attracting Your Target Audience” and will be streamed live on the VoiceAmerica Business Channel at 1 PM EST, 10 AM PST. It will also be replayed again at 10 PM PST, 1 AM EST and will be recorded and available for download as an MP3. You can also subscribe to the recordings via iTunes.
